Permission to avoid the boys

I brought Jemma home from school today with a temp. of 100.9.  She took a nap and when she woke up 2 1/2 hours later she had a rash all over her.  I called and talked to the school nurse and she said take her to the doctor.  We saw the doctor and she was diagonsed with CHICKEN POX.  Yikes!  Who knew you could still get them when you were in 5th grade.  Poor girl.  She has them all over her arms and legs.  She has very few on her stomach right now.  We’ll see if she gets more.

Sorry to hear about Jemma. Hope she has a mild case and has a quick recovery.

just wondering if she had the chicken pox shot and still got them?

  • Robin, Yes she has had the shot, but never had a booster shot. A lot of kids younger than 2nd grade have been getting booster shots. The summer of 2007, she had few spots that a nurse thought she might have had the chicken pox then.

She pretty much has them everywhere, on her ears and the palms of her hands. The only place they aren’t is on her scalp.

Poor girl! I got them on my 7th birthday along with everyone else at my slumber party! Still have a scar on my face from the chicken pox!
