Eat, Eat, Shop and Eat some more

I went to Dallas on Thursday for “moms weekend away” with my friends and returned late, late Sat. night.

On our way we stopped and had fried pies in Davis, OK.  I had never had fried pies, they were very good.

Our hotel had a free hot breakfast.  You could make your own Texas waffles.  Has anyone ever seen an Oklahoma waffle?

We also ate at the Cheesecake Factory on the day they were selling their cheesecake for 1/2 price, The Melting Pot, and several other yummy places.  We found the cheap theater and went to two different movies.  We also did plenty of shopping.  I forgot to take a picture with my friends, so I can’t even prove who went with me, or share who is about to celebrate their 40th birthday.

I bought a long sleeve shirt for Justin for $.99, after I explained to him what it looked like he said way to dig deep mom.  Bill thought he was complimenting me on finding something so cheap, but I think he might have been making fun of me.  Justin got home from boy scout camp about noon on Sat.

It was nice to have one last hurrah before I go back to work on Tues.  Yes, school starting is just around the corner.

More importantly, has anyone ever seen an Alaskan waffle? I would assume it would be a bigger waffle than the Texas one! 🙂 And your weekend sounds fantastic. Right now with my little babies, a trip like that seems so far off for me.

Sounds like a fun time! Does the Cheesecake Factory do that often? Never heard of 1/2 price night!

Somehow Stephanie and half of Dallas knew it was 1/2 price day. I don’t know if she found it out from one of her coupon websites?

Glad you were able to get away! Enjoy your last day off today!

Ooooh man, I want a fried pie so badly right now! Ben and I used to stop there all the time when we’d go south from OKC. They are awesome.
