Last week, Melissa Norwood, who I met last fall at Thanksgiving Day in the City, came and taught my students how to decorate cupcakes. These were some of the best.
Before spring break we made pies. I hardly eat anything they make, but this group of students brought strawberry rhubarb filling for their pies. Rhubarb anything is my favorite. It was so good.
Honors Night
Before spring break, Cimarron middle school had Honors night.
She made Cimarron’s honor roll because she has had a gpa above 3.5 for two semester. She also made the honor society because her grades are in the top 10% of her class for two semester.
She works very hard to maintain her grades. I’m so proud of how hard she works.
Spring Break Birthdays
Bill and Justin had birthdays over break. Justin turned 16. I just realized I didn’t get a picture of him blowing out the candles. Ugh!
I got a picture of the cake. I saw this idea on Pinterest. It’s just white cake, divided three ways, then add in different food coloring to get the different colors in the layers. You could make more layers.
I made a Buckeye cake for Bill. Chocolate, peanut butter, and brownies.
Spring Break Project
A couple of before pictures with furniture removed.
Ceilings scraped, ceiling and walls painted, crowne molding, new light fixture, and furniture back in.
We finished the dining room first. Bill hung the silverware chest that was my grandma’s silverware in it. It holds a service for 19.
We did all the same things in the sewing/office room.
I especially like my new light fixture I got at Lowes.
Cinderella
Will’s last musical performance at high school was Cinderella this past weekend. This is the only picture I was able to get of him in a costumes. It was a wonderful show.
The rest of this post could be called the different faces of my niece Samantha. She got pictures taken with all the princesses that were in the show and Prince Christopher.
With Cinderella in her 80’s wedding dress.
With Belle from Beauty and the Beast. Belle went to Sonshine School with Justin.
With princess Ariel from Little Mermaid.
With Princess Aurora from Sleeping Beauty.
With Snow White.
With Rapunzel. Samantha loved the performance and meeting the princesses.
More finished projects on snow days.
Bill got this light hung in the hallway on a recent snow day. The light has been missing for probably 2 years. I finally decided on one I liked. I’d kind of forgot we hadn’t replaced it.
I got another quilt finished. The woman I teach with pieced this one except for the outer boarders. I just put the boarders on, quilted it, then put the binding on.
Eagle decorations.
When it comes to decorating for different events it tends to stress me out.
When it came to Will’s Eagle ceremony, I had lots of ideas from Pinterest and Colton’s mom, Jamey, had some great ideas too.
Each of the boys had their own table with their boy scout memorabilia, this is Colton’s table.
This is Will’s table. The red blanket has all the patches he has earned from cub scouts and boy scouts.
The cake was made by Melissa Norwood. I met her during Thanksgiving Day in the City. She’s also come to my classes at school.
