Teaching the girl scouts
Saturday I had 6 girls scouts at my house to teach them to see. They are all making skirts with pockets. Everyone got their shirts cut out today. Next Saturday we’ll start sewing them together.
It was a great day to start since Will was gone to Winterfest and Justin was gone camping with the boy scouts.
Special blankets
When we were in Brazil and staying at Lar Belem, they had some really soft blankets that Justin feel in love with. He comment several times about them. That have me an idea for our kids for Christmas. I got them blankets as close to the same as the ones in Brazil. Yes, I spent a lot of time touching blankets at different stores. I found the right blankets at Target. I then embroidered their initial on them. The boys have sat around the house wrapped in them.
Home improvements at an unconvenient time
We decided to refinance our house this fall. One of the things the finance company wanted us to do was paint this bathroom that we had started pulling off the wallpaper. We also scraped the popcorn off the ceiling. The color is a gray. It’s hard to see in this picture. This was all done over Thanksgiving.
The other thing we had to do was but new carpet in our bedroom. We painted and scraped the ceiling a couple of years ago, but were waiting for the carpet until we had the bathroom remodeled. We got the carpet right before Thanksgiving. It’s a lot of work to get a room ready for carpet.
Ideas from Pinterest
I saw this sweatshirt idea on pinterest and asked Jemma if she would like me to make her one and she did. I cut the bottom off the sweatshirt and sewed on lace she picked out from Hobby Lobby.
I also covered this ironing board that Bill picked up at a garage sale. I’m going to take it to school since we don’t have an ironing there.
I picked the fabric up at Hobby Lobby. I used left over batting from quilts to go under the fabric.
