Brazilian food experience #136
After the bible study on Thursday at the church, we went and ate at a pizza buffet. From left to right around the table, Allen, Robin, Laura( who is 15) Will, Justin, Tyler( who is 17), Jemma, Amy and Bill.
They had a ton of different kinds of pizza. This was my favorite, shredded zucchini and tomatoes. They don’t put very much tomato sauce in the pizzas at this restaurant.
This was a dessert pizza. It was pineapple. Some of the kinds they served were, beef stroganoff, corn, filet mignon, shrimp, broccoli, salmon, pepperoni, Canadian bacon, chicken, sausage (Brazilian style), tuna, 4 cheese, arugala, spinach, and lots of others.
Then there was dessert pizza. Chocolate with strawberry, chocolate, strawberry ice cream pizza, dulce de leche, vanilla ice cream pizza, and caramelized banana. Can’t think of any others.
The boys loved it. They brought all the pizza to us, instead of going to it like at CiCi’s.
Grupos de C.A.S.A #3
This bible study is takes place at the church building on Thursday night. The previous bible studies were on Tuesday and Wednesday night. Alisson is the other minister, also by with Allen. Alisson led the bible study. This week’s topic was on patience.
There was 43 people in attendance.
Overflow seating.
More overflow seating.
After the bible study, Edenedes was baptized by Allen.
Grupos de C.A.S.A #2
This bible study was in another city called Paulinia. It was in the home of Christian and Angela. The man in the yellow shirt from the night before also came and he is sitting in front of the brick pillar with his wife on his left.
JoseMarie and Maeri came from Cosmopolis. Christian was in Cosmopolis on business and visited JoseMarie. They invited each other to their bible studies since their cities are close.
Robin usually sits next to me and interprets.
After the bible study there was a birthday party for Christian and Angela’s second daughter. They have 3.
Grupos de C.A.S.A #1
There is nine bible study groups that meet every week. They are led by members of the Guanabara church of Christ. This one met in a suburb of Campinas, called Cosmopolis. This one met in a very nice garage.
The older couple in this picture own the business where it was held. Their names are Josemarie and Maeri.
Allen Dutton is sitting next to them. He actually led the study that night. The gentleman in the yellow shirt and his wife to his right are visitors. This is their second or third time to attend. They have been to church twice.
The bible studies have been meeting for 2 years. They started off with 5 groups and now they have 9.
The kids didn’t go with us this night due to transportation issues. Robin didn’t like to drive if there isn’t any street lights and it was a ways to get out there and no street lights.
Orphanage
Our bible class took up a collection of money for us to bring things to the orphanage. We brought bubbles, side walk chalk, clothes, hats, match box cars, beanie babies, and many other things. The director of the orphanage is on the far left.
One of the things we brought for the boys is wash clothes that are in a tight ball and when u put them in water they expand to a regular size wah clothe. They really enjoyed watching them “grow”.
The little boy that Jemma is talking to is going to be adopted soon! I was holding the same little boy in the top picture.
The little boy with the glasses loved Justin. He is probably going to go live with his grandma along with his 2 sisters. He saw his dad kill his mother, very sad story.
Justin and Jemma enjoying some futbol ( soccer).
This boy is using the bubbles as a soccer ball.
This is some of the other kids after they got home from school and one of the workers.
Makin’ Hay
When we were on the farm, Jemma and I helped my dad, brother, and my nephew (way up on top) change the belts in my dad’s big round baler.
Jemma is holding on to the rope that is attached to one of the belts.
Before dad could bale the hay he had to rake the rows together. This also helps to dry the hay out, so it can be baled.
Here is his baler and tractor at work.
This is the bale after it comes out of the baler.
Usually the bales are bigger, but the field he was baling was small and that’s all the hay there was to bale.
Zoo baby
Jemma and I have been to the zoo twice in the last two weeks with my sister and her two children.
This is the baby boy rhino that was born June 21st.
I took a selfie with one of the larikeet.
This bear has a paw across his eyes as if he is stressed out. I thought it was funny.
My sister and niece checked out the sting rays and very small sharks.
Jemma and I tried to take selfies with my nephew.
They also ride the carousel.
Family Reunion
Over the 4th of July our family went to a family reunion in SW Missouri. One afternoon my mom, Justin, Jemma and I walked down to a near by river.
Justin and Jemma sat with their feet in the water.
Justin decided to check out how deep it was. It wasn’t very deep.
Our family hasn’t had a reunion in 10 years. My kids had a good time at the reunion but they had a hard time not doing our regular 4th of July activities in Edmond.
Jemma is learning how to skip rocks at a different location on the river from my dad’s cousins.
Will didn’t go with us because he was working.
