Last weeks snow day I made this quilt.

This is the back.  I didn’t plan on making any extra quilts this spring, but sometimes you have to be a team player at a new job.

The road less traveled

The only thing I don’t like about my new job is the drive.  It normally takes me 25-30  min.  to get back and forth to work.  The fastest way to work is using the interstate system.  I’ve found an alternate route that takes me past hay, sod and beef farms. It only takes about 5 min. longer, but I’m sure it cuts down on my stress level.  Yesterday when I drove home in the snow it seemed extra powerful.

This is what 3 to 4.5″ of snow looks like in our front yard.

Ben’s Story

A little snow, a little ice.

IMG_20131209_112652

We had three snow days the first part of Dec.  We got about 4 inches of snow.  It was so cold, they only went sledding for about 30 min.

Dec 2013 025

Closer to Christmas we had an ice storm.  The nice thing about it was that the roads didn’t get icy.

Dec 2013 024

The ice hung around for at least 3 days.

Dec 2013 031

I’m not sure how much ice we got, but it seemed really thick on Bill’s truck.

PIcs of the charger sent.

Ropes course and laser tag

Norman GSA trip 053

The last thing we did on our Girl Scout trip to Norman was going to Hey Day in Moore and doing their ropes course and laser tag.

They had a lot of fun that day.  They did the ropes course twice and laser tag once.  We also had pizza before we came home.

It was pretty while it lasted

Snow day, not 001

It snowed beautiful big flakes at one point in time with this storm.  We got around 2 inches of the white fluffy stuff.

Snow day, not 002

But unfortunately when the guys from the school district went out at 4:30 am the next morning, they couldn’t find enough on the roads to cancel school.  I think it had something to do with the ground temperature being 40 degrees F.

Merry Christmas

I hope everyone has a blessed day filled with love and family.

Winners!

OC Dean’s wife and Catherine won the Grinch quilts.

Congratulations!
